Challenges
When everything was going well, expanding the customer base and orders raised new challenges in the line.
Challenge with stock tracking – As the number of orders increases, stock tracking and packing become the most challenging area for the sales teams and store managers. They were following the manual process to track the stock availability and packing.
Challenge with inventory management – The inventory management process was also utterly manual as their existing technology could not ease the process. In manual tracking, the TDS process was also taking a longer time.
Traze as a solution
Retail-tech selected Gateway Digital as their technology partner to resolve the above challenges. Gateway Digital has developed robust software named as ”Traze” to trace and solve problems with the latest technology.
The application supports RFID & camera scanner to quickly scan items (Article added in basket/cart) and support multiple payment integrations (Vipps / Klarna / Verifone / Softpay) for billing. The back-office portal manages the entire Chain with Store, User, Article, Report, Analysis, POS management modules, etc.
Implementation
Recently Gateway Digital has successfully implemented a web shop order sync with TRAZE for one of the leading clothing chains in Norway. They are using nopCommerce as its online shopping site. TRAZE captures the daily orders and assigns them to a store for pickup and dispatch. They can also search and manage products from TRAZE. This integration also provides a feature to send SMS & print address labels for return orders.
How Gateway Digital becomes successful in solving the challenges?
Integration of hardware and software is challenging, like cloud printer, terminal integration, and RFID integration, but it was an excellent learning for the Gateway Digital team while running the project
We have implemented the RFID technology, self-checkout wherein the customer can himself buy any product and do their payment from point, thereby making check outs easy and convenient to customers.
We also developed mobile and web POS to solve the client’s challenges.
Since it was considered that the domain (Retail / POS) has millions of items (Article), the traditional approach becomes ineffective.
Using Azure Search, we enabled the search results in a fraction of a second, making the search experience fast and increasing users’ productivity in the store. The store managers can now get a quick idea of inventory.
